"Benson is entering his second season after playing a minimal role as a rookie. The 2024 third-round pick never truly pushed James Conner for work and instead was limited to 69 touches in 13 games while sharing change-of-pace duties with Emari Demercado. Benson was effective (4.6 YPC, 2.1 YAC), and though it's logical to expect a larger role in his second season, Conner remains the team's lead back after signing an extension in November. Benson won't have standalone value early on, but he's an intriguing insurance target considering Conner is entering his age-30 season having never played a full regular season."

"Benson missed the last three games of his rookie season due to an ankle injury that required his being placed on IR, but Arizona's offseason photo release now shows him participating in Phase Three of OTAs. Across 13 regular-season appearances as a rookie, the 2024 third-round pick rushed 63 times for 291 yards and one score (4.6 YPC). He was active Week 5 but took no snaps behind workhorse James Conner. Benson is slotted in for a backup role behind Conner entering Year 2 but remains a high-upside developmental option, in the event that the 30-year-old veteran starter atop the depth chart shows signs of regression coming off a career-high 283 touches. Admittedly, though, Conner is a three-down player and impressed with 1,508 yards from scrimmage while remaining healthy for a career-best 16 regular-season games in 2024, and if he reprises a similar performance in 2025 few opportunities will be left over for Benson."

"Aiyuk is back in San Francisco for his sixth NFL campaign, but he's expected to miss roughly half of the season after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in October. Aiyuk had just received a contract extension, which followed back-to-back top-15 fantasy seasons, including a 2023 campaign in which he produced a career-high 1,342 yards (seventh among WRs) and ranked top 5 at the position in yards per reception, yards per target and yards per route run. Even prior to the injury, however, Aiyuk was underperforming last season, scoring zero TDs and reaching double-digit fantasy points once in seven games. Aiyuk is still in his prime at age 27, but it's unclear when he'll return, how effective he'll be, and how much work he'll be given in a fairly crowded offense. Aiyuk is only worth late-round consideration in deep leagues."

"That said, there is still no concrete timetable for Aiyuk's return to action. Either way, Lynch noted that despite recent trade speculation, he expects the 2020 first-rounder -- who the 49ers signed to a four-year, $120 million extension last August -- to remain with the team this coming season. Due a $22.85 million bonus Tuesday, Aiyuk recorded 25 catches (on 47 targets) for 374 yards in seven games prior to his injury, and, once he's fully healthy, he'll be in line to headline a San Francisco WR corps that no longer includes Deebo Samuel. For now, the top available options behind Aiyuk are Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson."
