"Rattler beat out rookie Tyler Shough and will be the Saints' Week 1 starting quarterback. Rattler - a 2024 fifth-round pick - appeared in seven games as a rookie and did not show particularly well. He completed 57% of his passes, averaged 5.8 yards per attempt (both are very poor) and managed four TDs and five INTs. He did add a bit with his legs (146 yards), but that wasn't enough to allow a single 15-point fantasy outing. The 24-year-old is unlikely to hang on to the starting job all season and is well off the fantasy radar."


"After a 1-7 start to the season, the Saints are opting for a change under center after Rattler beat out Shough, a rookie second-round pick out of Louisville, for the starting job coming out of the preseason. Despite a lackluster supporting cast, Rattler was reasonably efficient as a passer over his eight starts (68 percent completion rate, 6.2 yards per attempt), but he had been mistake-prone over his last two outings. In just over six and a half quarters of football in losses to the Bears and Buccaneers, Rattler took seven sacks, threw four interceptions and lost two fumbles. Unlike the undersized Rattler, Shough (6-foot-5, 219 pounds) offers an ideal frame as a pocket passer and solid arm strength to match it, but his lack of mobility and poor accuracy could render him a less interesting fantasy option."

"Atwell re-signed with the Rams during the offseason and is set to enter his fifth season with the team. The 2021 second-round pick has seen a progressive increase in receptions and yardage during each pro season, though he hasn't quite lived up to his Day 2 draft selection pedigree. Atwell has yet to post a top-60 fantasy campaign and, after failing to find the end zone in 2024, he has a total of five scores in 54 career games. Sean McVay has said that he will deploy Atwell more often moving forward, but the undersized 25-year-old remains well behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams in terms of target priority. Atwell is not a fantasy option."


"Even with Davante Adams (hamstring) out and Jordan Whittington (knee) leaving the game early with injury, Atwell was on the field for just a handful of snaps on offense. The one-year, $10 million deal Atwell signed in the offseason will leave the speedster as an unrestricted free agent after the postseason, and he'll do so after his worst statistical season since his rookie year with the Rams in 2021. Atwell played just 10 games this season and caught six of his 15 targets for 192 yards and a touchdown, a stark drop from 2024 when he finished with a 42-562-0 receiving line over 17 games. Even if Adams and Whittington are unavailable for Saturday's wild-card round matchup with the Panthers, Puka Nacua, Konata Mumpfield and Xavier Smith will likely record the bulk of work at receiver, leaving Atwell in his typical role as a scarcely used deep threat."
