"Lazard is entering his eighth NFL season, including his third with the Jets. With old friend Aaron Rodgers under center, Lazard came out of the gate strong last season, totaling a 26-354-5 receiving line (15.2 fantasy PPG) in his first six games. Once the Jets acquired Davante Adams, however, Lazard's usage plummeted and he managed an 11-176-1 line (5.8 PPG) in his final six games. Lazard has a shot at No. 2 WR duties opposite Garrett Wilson this season, but with Rodgers out and dual-threat Justin Fields in at quarterback, there's almost no upside here. Lazard has never posted a top-30 fantasy campaign (one finish better than 47th) and he's unlikely to get there in his age-29 season."

"It's the third season of a four-year contract that now includes $1.75 million guaranteed for 2025, after Lazard barely played in 2023 but rebounded last season to score six touchdowns in 12 games (10 starts). He turned 29 in December and may now end up in an open competition for WR roles behind No. 1 Garrett Wilson. "Higbee is set for his 10th NFL season (all with the Rams) after missing most of 2024 while recovering from a torn ACL and MCL suffered during the 2023 playoffs. Higbee made his season debut in Week 16 and went on to appear in five games, including the playoffs. Unsurprisingly, he didn't play much of a role initially, but he seemed back to his usual self in the playoff game against the Eagles, posting a 7-54-1 receiving line on 10 targets. Higbee has enjoyed spurts of fantasy relevance at times throughout his career, but he's never finished better than 10th in PPG, and even that was way back in 2019. The 32-year-old will settle in no higher than third in target priority behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, so he's not worth your attention in the late rounds."

"The comparison makes sense if talking about Higbee as a draft prospect back in 2016, at which point he was carrying 249 pounds on a 6-foot-6 frame and mostly valued for pass-catching potential. It doesn't fit as well when discussing the current version of Higbee, listed at 255 pounds and valued for versatility. He's proven capable of taking on significant receiving workloads when needed, including during last season's playoffs, but it's never been something that coach Sean McVay prefers to do. With Ferguson competing for TE snaps and Davante Adams a probable upgrade on Cooper Kupp at wide receiver, Higbee appears unlikely to draw more than four or five targets per game, if that, in 2025. Higbee's bet shot at fantasy value would entail Adams or Puka Nacua missing time while Ferguson fails to earn a role."

"Austin was second among Pittsburgh's wide receivers in targets, catches and yards last season, but he didn't get much playing time in formations with fewer than three wide receivers, and his average of 3.4 targets per game was far below what's needed for fantasy relevance in most leagues. It could be a similar situation this year, only with DK Metcalf replacing Pickens as the clear No. 1 and Robert Woods replacing Van Jefferson as the veteran who is valued for blocking and experience more so than drawing targets. Austin is in a better position than he would've been had the Steelers kept both Metcalf and Pickens, but huge snap counts remain unlikely for one of the NFL's smallest players (Austin is listed at 5-foot-9, 162 pounds)."
