"Ewers was selected by Miami in the seventh round of April's draft. He has a good arm, but his 2024 and career passing efficiency was underwhelming across the board. He finished his career (36 starts) with below-average marks relative to this class, despite a conservative 7.8 aDOT and having rarely seen pressure (class-low 24% rate). Ewers was not a factor with his legs (2.0 carries per start in his career). He'll battle Zach Wilson for work behind Tua Tagovailoa."

"The rookie from Texas had served as the Dolphins' emergency third quarterback in each of the team's first six games but was promoted to the backup role in Week 7. Ewers entered Sunday's loss in the fourth quarter, completing five of eight pass attempts for 53 yards. However, his ball-security issues likely contributed to McDaniel's decision to open a competition for the No. 2 QB position, as Ewers fumbled twice on just 12 offensive snaps, though neither were recovered by the defense."

"Hampton was selected by the Chargers in the first round of April's draft. He is a big, tough back whose career 3.85 YAC is fourth best in this class. He's more downhill than he is agile, but he impressed in the 40, vertical and broad at the combine. Hampton is a capable pass catcher, and he figures to land a three-down role in the pros. He'll defer some carries to Najee Harris and targets may be limited in the Jim Harbaugh/Greg Roman scheme, but there will be enough volume to allow RB2 fantasy production."

"It's another crushing blow to the Chargers offense after the team already lost Najee Harris to a season-ending torn Achilles in Week 3. On top of the backfield injuries, Justin Herbert has been running for his proverbial life behind Los Angeles' swinging gate offensive line that is without starting LT Rashawn Slater (kneecap) for the season while right tackle-turned-left tackle Joe Alt (ankle) is week-to-week. With Hampton on the shelf for at least the next four games, the Chargers will be down to Hassan Haskins and practice-squad RBs Kimani Vidal and Amar Johnson in the backfield."
